Watch live Rugby - Southland vs Auckland Rugby - ITM Cup New Zealand Rugby - rugby.trueonlinetv.com

The 2011 ITM Cup is the 35th provincial rugby union competition in New Zealand, the sixth since the competition reconstruction in 2006 and the second under the new sponsor of ITM (Independent Timber Merchants).
The new competition format from 2011 will see 14 teams split into two divisions of seven teams based on their on-field finishing positions in 2010. The top seven teams will form the Premiership and the bottom seven the Championship. Teams will play all other teams in their division plus four teams from the other division (there will be an innovative new process for teams to select their cross-division opponents with the detail to be finalised in the first quarter of 2011). All matches will carry full competition points. Due to the ITM Cup season running up against the 2011 Rugby World Cup, to be held in September and October in New Zealand, the competition window will be truncated. Three midweek matches will be held during the regular season, and there will be no semi-finals; the top two teams in both the Championship and Premiership will advance directly to their respective finals. Semi-finals will return to both competitions in 2012.[1]
The winner of the Championship will receive automatic promotion to the Premiership replacing the 7th placed team in the Premiership which will be relegated to the Championship.

Auckland v Southland

Auckland have found themselves at the bottom of the ITM Cup Premiership table after suffering three losses in their opening four matches.
Following the 2007 champions latest defeat to Taranaki, Auckland coach Mark Anscombe knows his team has to start firing immediately if they are to avoid relegation.
"We had a good recovery yesterday, meetings with the leadership group and also a good team chat now," he said.
"We know what's required and what we need to do. We've dug ourselves this hole and we're the ones that have to get ourselves out of it."
Southland will be out to bury their hosts when they make the trip to Auckland, after enjoying back-to-back wins in the tournament. After beating Canterbury to win back the Ranfurly Shield, the Stags then defended the Log o' Wood thanks to a 22-14 victory over Counties-Manukau.

Hawke's Bay v Tasman

HEAD TO HEAD: Played 4; Hawke's Bay 2, Tasman 2.
LAST TIME: August 12, 2010 (Blenheim) – Tasman 21-7 Hawke's Bay.
WALKING WOUNDED: Hawke's Bay has a few players in the MASH tent this week and the problems are greatest in the inside backs. Groin strains have sidelined Tu Umaga-Marshall and Andrew Horrell, Daniel Kirkpatrick injured a leg at Albany, Chris Eaton did his ribs and Mike Coman will be given another game off to get his neck right. As a result Kahn Fotuali'i starts at first-five (he had to recover from a whack on the jaw to play) while Isaac Paewai starts at halfback and Ryan McLeod at second-five. There is better news on the way, though, as several players are almost over injuries and should be available again in the next week or so. Tasman has named the same 23 that played at Hamilton last Friday but four regulars have been given a spell on the bench this time with the changes coming in the front row, at No 8 where Mark Bright takes a well-earned breather, halfback and centre.
TEAMS:
Hawke's Bay: 1. Sona Taumalolo, 2. Hikawera Elliot (capt), 3. Anthony Perenise, 4. Brodie Retallick, 5. Bryn Evans, 6. Trent Boswell-Wakefield, 7. Karl Lowe, 8. Kane Thompson, 9. Isaac Paewai, 10. Kahn Fotuali'i, 11. Gillies Kaka, 12. Ryan McLeod, 13. Tua Saseve, 14. Sinoti Sinoti, 15. Richard Buckman.
Tasman: 1. Fai Mika, 2. Quentin MacDonald, 3. Sam Prattley, 4. Filipo Levi, 5. Pablo Heuete, 6. Liam Squire, 7. Shane Christie, 8. Jonathon Poff, 9. Shawn Begg, 10. James Marshall, 11. Mitchell Scott, 12. Andrew Goodman (capt), 13. Kieron Fonotia, 14. Robbie Malneek, 15. Tom Marshall.
